Thank you very much for looking, Emma.
Perhaps William and Sarah didn't get married at all!!!!
Their second child was called Mary so I think you are right that the first William is probably the right one.
Thanks again

Hi Emma

thank you for your kind offer. I am looking for a marriage and/or a death of Mary McNaught born 1 Aug 1887. Her father was John McNaught (a policeman) who would be deceased at the time of any marriage. He died when Marywas very young. Her mother was Sarah(maiden name Conroy). Sarah could have remarried by the time of any marriage and her name was Gow or Hyslop.

Any help much appreciated.

Ann,

There is a marriage ...

Marriage of John Cameron & Ann Dickson
25th July 1822
Cromdale & Inverallan - Moray

On the marriage parish it looks like daughter of John Dickson but it's not very clear

I was looking at deaths for John Cameron in the same area and the only one that it may have been was ..

John Cameron
Pauper
(married)
3 November 1858
8h AM
Mains of Tulloch
51 Years Old
Father - Donald Cameron - Farmer (deceased)
Mother - Jane Cameron m/s Smith
Cause of death - Enteritis 6days
Buried in the Churchyard of Kincadine
Registered by Lewis Cook - Sub-Inspector of Poor
Registered on 9th November 1858
ABERNETHY & KINCARDINE - MORAY

Is there any chance you know if they stayed in the Moray area?

You may be able to match up their kids names with their parents names to get a definate - usually they just used the same names over and over throughout the family.

Had a quick look at births for a John Cameron & Ann Dickson ...

Ann Cameron
28 July 1822
Father - John Cameron
Mother - Ann Dickson
CROMDALE & INVERALLAN - MORAY

John Cameron *twin i'm guessing*
20 October 1825
Father - John Cameron
Mother - Ann Dickson
CROMDALE & INVERALLAN - MORAY

Marjory Cameron *twin i'm guessing*
20 October 1825
Father - John Cameron
Mother - Ann Dickson
CROMDALE & INVERALLAN - MORAY

There is other children - but i'm not sure these are related because there's 1 child - Margaret - that was born on the 20th october 1825 too and would be a triplet of Marjory and John but she was registered in a different parish .. so highly doubtful but they are ...

Margaret Cameron
20 October 1825
Father - John Cameron
Mother - Ann Dickson
KEITH - BANFF

Elizabeth Cameron
30 January 1828
Father - John Cameron
Mother - Ann Dickson
KEITH - BANFF

James Cameron
21 July 1834
Father - John Cameron
Mother - Ann Dickson
KEITH - BANFF

Births around 1800 - 1810 for a Ann Dickson ...

Looking as John as the father's name

Ann Dickson
10 May 1801
Father - John Dickson
Mother - Christian Riddle
ECKFORD - ROXBURGH

Ann MacDougall Dickson
17 June 1804
Father - John Dickson
Mother - Barbara Elder
PERTH

Ann Dickson
7 November 1802
Father - John Dickson
No mother's name given
EARLSTON - BERWICK

Anne Dickson

Father - John Dickson
Mother - Janet Bairnsfather

Not sure if any of this will help .. give me a shout if you want anything in more detail or anything else looked up .. You may be able to fit it in with some of the information you have so far?

me again Emma!!! [sorry] Message from my friend

Grateful thanks to Emma please pass on my gratitude. Bit "confused" (not hard I know) will have to search out locations when I get up there, I have a Margaret born 11/9/1829 to John & Anne whose siblings were Alexander b 3/12/1831, Elizabeth b 27/1/1828, Ann b 11/5/1822, John and twin Marjory b 15/10/1925
Ann, John & Marjory were born in Advie, the otherthree were born in Keith Banff so some things link but others a bit "grey" mind you perhaps thats where I get my grey hair from!!
The mother Ann(e) Dickson I had as born 2/1/1802 with siblings Margaret b 9/91805, and Elizabeth b 4/2/1808. There parents were a Luke Dickson and a Margaret Cameron which may be wrong as I was given this info back in 1988!!

He's on his way to Scotland this afternoon and taking laptop with him - he's keen I'll say that for him - so if you can come up with anything else I can pass it on - please donlt feel obliged to in any way - you have given so much time already

Hello Emma
Thanks for kind offer. Hope I can explain this without it being too confusing, don't want to waste your time!
On Family Search, extracted records I have William Bissett married Isabella ( or Isabel) Forbes at St Nicholas Aberdeen 1801. Have children that correspond to this.
I then found a Euphemia Bisset b 1787 St Nicholas Aberdeen in 1787 to William Bisset and Isabel Forbes. Also extracted.
I havent seen the marriage cert for William and Isabel so don't know their ages.
It seems unlikely that this couple would have a child that long before marriage and still have more until 1807, which I have found.
But it also seems unlikely that there is another couple with exactly the same names! A transciption error maybe.
Sorry this is so long. Thanks for your time.

Emma

Thank you for your help
Looking at the names of the father's for the Isabel Smith's
you have found and the fact that family's tend to use the sames names for the next generation's, I think it could be either James or John.

I appreciate the help you given me
Regards
Val
