You might want to order the certificate. The informant could be one of her other children.

Rose, i have finally been able to reach my brother. He says Violet died in 1974 the same year his best mate died.

Can you narrow it down to a decade?

She was still alive in 1964?

Sorry Rose, all i know is that she died in London, she was never very far from Shoreditch.

Hi Dea, I found a marriage in 1911 for a Violet Smith 1911 Thinking it was them and tried to work back. All i have done is completely confused myself. However i have found this on dads BC about Violet
VILOET WILLIAMS :restaurant kitchen hand 12 Fanshaw st Shoreditch & she didn't register him until 7/12/1932 is that any help

Forget the Violet Smith at the beginning. Jacquie was just guessing that was the one before she received the birth cert.

Hi Jacqui,

I think I can a safely say that she would not have had your father at age 59 !

Could you give us ALL the info from that birth cert please?

How did you get back to the Violet who was born in 1872 - did you have another connection which led you there or did you just take a guess?

Maybe that Violet (Woolf) who was with Charles Smith had a daughter named Violet and you father is 'her' son' ??

I will take a look.

Not much Rose, always knew she was Violet as we were not allowed to call her nan, she passed after we arrived in OZ in 1964

You obviously knew your grandmother's name was Violet because you were looking for that name before you received the birth cert. What happened to her?
