isn't it always the same. The names you think are more unusual and should be able to trace easily turn out not to be. I had less trouble with my Jones family in Wales than this.

let us know if you find new info

hope you are feeling better soon

Merritt was possibly a name handed down to the first son, possibly originally a mother's maiden name in the past. I have a similar one and have not found the generation which includes it yet.

Maybe someone could do an address search of 1911 census to see who was actually living at 32 Sandon Rd. Who knows - 7th child - it might taken her by surprise when visiting a friend.

dutch

dutch Report 23 Feb 2011 19:39

I wonder were the middle name of Merrit came from never heard of that name before ,anyone else heard of it?

lancashireAnn Report 29 Jan 2011 22:57

did you get Ada & Samuel's marriage certificate from the GRO or Liverpool records office.

If the GRO I wonder if it is worth you contacting Liverpool with the exact date and details and asking them to check the origal for Ada's father's name in case there was a mistranscription to the bishop's transcriptps.

I think they will do 1 free search per person as long as it does not take more than 15 mins.
