Alexander Macrae and Elizabeth Taylor is also the father of Murdo Macrae. Connection! Elizabeth Macrae, Murdo Macrae and Jane Macrae all siblings. So George Macdonald was the cousin of Robert and Alexander.

I hope this all makes sense.

Hello Catherine, Sorry I thought the trail had gone dry. Alexander Thomson, came to Australia when he was 16, so it makes sense that he and Robert are brothers. I just have his death reg saying his parents were Alexander and Jean. He died in Sydney 1966 and he lived around punchbowl, so the Campsie death reg matched. There is no p in Thomson, so the George Thompson is not him as he is a MacDonald. That match witht the Alexander McDonald and the Jane MacRae, is perfect, I'll just see if Jane was one of the daughters.
