Adding 'Ireland' to your title would attract the attention of people who can help with that country's records

What is the 1936 document?

How is she related to you?

The document was Her sons birth certificate and she is my cousins grandmother. It says Margaret Kennedy A Servant, Formerly Ruskenain, Rufenan, or Rushenan Florencecourt. Would this be a Place or her Maiden name? It doesnt state MRS

Hi everyone, Im in Belfast at the moment and trying to look for my ancestor who stayed in Belfast in the December 1936. She was formerly from Florence Court Fermanagh and she work as a servant. Im finding it hard to trace her and would be grateful for azny direction in helping me to do so. Ive searched Street Directories in Belfast but unsure what to look up in Fermanagh.

Go to PRONI, they may have records for Florence courts employee

Sharonrose...
Florence Court is easy enough to find ....Florence Court is a truly welcoming home, around 8 miles from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh. The house, formerly the home of the Cole family, Earls of Enniskillen, is surrounded by a large area of parkland, garden and woodland, with breathtaking views to Benaughlin and the Cuilcagh Mountains. Discover many serene and beautiful corners by exploring the Pleasure Grounds and the Walled Garden in this magnificent demesne.

If Margaret worked for the Coles then you would be needing to find any of their Household Staff Documents...
These are held (at least some of them) at the PRONI under Enniskillen Papers.

I find, on checking, that you have now deleted the post to which attention was drawn by Flick last year.............having already deleted another thread.

I wonder how much relevant info you have destroyed by doing so.............

Hi reggie i never deleted it, I was told to join to threds together so I copied and pasted them all into one as I still dont understand how to work this site in messaging. I requested freedom to information to the ration application in 1939 and it shows that Margaret Kennedy then had surname lined through and Sayer put above as the surname dated 23.9.1939 her DOB as 20.11.11 thanks for your help :-)

How do you know the Margaret Kennedy in Eglantine Ave is the one you after, I know you found a Margaret Kennedy in an electoral roll at that address, but that doesn't prove she yours. Plus Sharonrose you know you can't get BMD's online after 1922 for N.Ireland

Hi Maura I done the freedom of imformation act on the 1939 national registrar after watching who do you think you are as it stated that in ww2 everyone had to fill in the registrar and i recieved it yesterday which it shows Margaret DOB 20 nov 1911 and married name Sayers, she married Joseph Argyle Sayers 1945 Belfast but I cant seem to get the certificate details nor her birth one.

Her mum maiden name is Kenney and her dad Joseph Kennedy. She then had moved to USA Los Angeles so im that far at moment but cant find the certs for the marriage birth and told she buried in Inglewood cementry in Hollywood Los Angeles where the famous stars are buried.

sharonrose

sharonrose Report 28 Oct 2012 22:03

Maura Report 29 Oct 2012 11:20

Your still not answering my question, how did you get from Margaret Kennedy in Malone place to Margaret Kennedy in Eglantine Ave, how do you know they are the same person? The national registry does not give parents names on it. You know you can't get her marriage online, you've been told many times that BMD's stop for N.Ireland in 1921
