Sylann - there's no way, just from census records and without a first name, of knowing which of the many A Silvermans would be Rose's aunt. She's obviously not with her aunt in 1920 or 1930.

You'll need to work out if the sister of either one of Rose's parents married a Mr Silverman and we can take it from there. (Of course, "aunt" can be a loosely used term).

Sylann Report 29 Jun 2012 23:04

all fits

The one thing I've noticed Rose visiting her aunt Mrs A silverman

This means i have Silverman on both sides of this family

I think it is a Jewish surname so their must have been a few about

Do they have censuses for 1920 -1930 just wondering if Mrs a Silverman has any family??

Just checked inbox fantastic Thank you

MC - Ancestry have the images to the original h/h pages, but they're not indexed.

Sylann - if you think knowing, say, who was in each of the 3 Newcastle Mr Lukes h/h's would save you wasting time looking up the wrong Mr Lukes's images, then check out my post in Jonesey's thread:

they have the summary books but you can get the census record also but it is so complicated and you have to go through so many pages which is ok if you find the one you want but spending hours and not getting anywhere I'll not be beaten !!!

MarieCeleste Report 16 Sep 2011 19:35

Sylann, I'm not 100% sure but I thought Ancestry only had the summary books, not the full census. (Someone will be bound to put me right if I've got it wrong!)
