Many thanks. I will try the death cert first.

In response to finding out about his life in Canada, my inclination would be to get the death cert first. If you can confirm the above marriage (or another one!) then it might be possible to find descendants. I think there is a likely son to the above couple, but of course you need to establish a bit more first. Unless you are feeling flush and get that cert anyway!

It has to be him with an identical DOB! I would get the cert and see who registered the death.

There are no births of a William M Howes in England or Wales in 1901 so it is almost certain he came into the country at some point

I am looking for any information on William Matthew Howes, born 30/08/1901 in Shanghai, China. I think he could have been known as Bill.

His parents were John Henry Howes and Mary Jordan (Chinese) and they lived in China

I know that he left Shanghai on the Africa Maru and arrived in Vancouver, British Colombia on 6 May 1925.

After that I cant seem to find out anything about him.
Could anyone kindly help me or advise me where to start.
