I am looking to see whether there is a marriage for Henry Charles Bridger to an Emily Bennett in 1873 - I have found that the banns have been read on Ancestry for 30 March, 6 and 13 April but cannot find the actual marriage.

Would anyone mind looking for me :-D

Hi everyone

Bit of a long story - we have been struggling with this relative for some time now - he was a seaman in the Merchant Navy and drowned in 1875 - we found a marriage to Sarah Maria Quested in 1874 (in Lambeth) but have no other information - he appears to be a ghost, we have had another look today and see the marriage for Emily a year before - not sure if this is our relative but was trying to see if we could find that marriage cert on line to see if there were any clues

I think the 1881 census could be Henry Cullmore bridger born 1855 bethnal green

Hi everyone,

I don't think it is him as our Henry Charles Bridger dies in 1875 - on the marriage certificate we have for the marriage in 1874 to Sarah Maria Quested (which is correct) confirms his dad as John (his profession was Coachman)

I didn't know she had been married before? The certificate confirms her as a spinister on the certificate Henry Charles - although I don't think people were always honest.
