Does anyone have access to the above parish records as i am sure that he had brothers or sisters.
He is the only direct ancestor of my tree and am trying to locate a wider spectrum or even trace further back as to parentage.
Would appreciate any assistance with this quest.
Regards,
Michael.

Have you looked on FamilySearch.org?
There are a few Grouts in Essex including some children of a Richard Grout:
Elizabeth (1599), Alis (1602), John (1607) and Richard (1608) plus a wife Margaret.

Hi Ann,
There were four children of Richard 1578 as you have listed.
I think that his father could have been also a Richard[?1550-1640] so i am looking for other boys.ie Henry, John, Thomas or a James born about the same period of time 1570/80's.
Could have been Manuden ,Clavering or Chickney.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards.
Michael.
