Edwina - they couldn't have (legitimitely) married. Lilly was still legally married to Francis. There was very very rarely divorce then for ordinary people - way too expensive.

Not seeing them on anything after 1911 so guess they may still have been in NS for a while.

Enid was the daughter from the previous marriage. I haven't found a marriage for Louis in England, so assumed they married in Canada...obviously not. Were they in Calgary by 1916?

Well, well! I've seen Francis and Lilly's marriage certificate and he was a gardener, living Shadwell. His father was Robert, an engine driver. They married 07/10/1905.

Looks like the marriage didn't work out and he was back with his family in 1911:

According to the 1911 Louis and his young family wre all born England and all arrived in 1905:

EDIT: I'm not too convinced that they all arrived together - Louis seems very young to be Enid's father, might she be Lily's from her first marriage?

Having done such a brilliant job for me on Reginald Fisher, I wonder if you could find any census information for me on his brother Louis. He was born in Leeds in 1888 and as can be seen from the obit above died in Calgary in 1983. He didn't seem to be with Reginald in the census info you gave me for Reginald. Also I wonder where he married his wife, Lily Grange Parker ( previously married in England to a Kendall).
I'd be so greatful for your help.

Obituary Calgary Herald Monday Dec 19,1983

December 17, 1983 Mr. Louis Fisher, aged 95 years of 722 16 Ave NE. Mr Fisher is survived by two daughters Mrs Enid Ansell and her husband Robert, Mrs. Marjorie Wallace of Fruitvale BC, a son Mr. Raymond Fisher and his wife Alberta of Calgary, Mrs. Thelma Fisher a daughter-in-law of Lethbridge, Alberta, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grand children and two great-great grand children,a brother in Leeds, England. Mr. Fisher was predeceased by his wife Mrs. Lily Fisher in 1964, a son Roy in 1981 and a daughter Muriel in 1979. Born in Leeds England he had resided in Calgary since 1919. Mr. Fisher was employed by the CPR as a boiler maker until his retirement in 1953. Funeral services will be held at Leydens Chapel of Rememberance 1719 2 ST SW Calgary Tues 11 am. Interment at Queens Park Cemetery
