Hampstead (Handsworth) was in Staffordshire until it was incorporated with Birmingham, which was Warwickshire.
It was a fairly posh area with some very big, impressive houses.
It lost the plot somewhere along the way, but the link withWarwickshire is quite feasible.
My granĀ“s brother who was a silversmith, with his own business, lived there in the early 1900s.

I will look at a different hallmark the one I was looking at was 1978 but was the clearer of all the hallmarks on silver things that my mother gave me so obviosly the bowl I was looking at is one of her things not her grandmothers so Iwill get my daughter to looks at some of the other things which are not so clear and which I definitely know are older sorry for the confusion
