i have a birth certificates of a child(born in surrey) of william john wigmore(occupation cowman on farm) born about 1887 and jessie sibley(death shows her as jessica as does the marriage i found on free bmd in 1917 hartley witney hampshire) born about 1893
unfortunately i can not find any of their birth on gr or free bmd
any help please and many thanks in advance

that is the marriage i found also shirley so the birth certificate of eric wigmore was born in 1932 guildford only states jessie wigmore(formerly sibley) and william john wigmore
is it normal to shorten names like this as i have never come across it before?

shortening names and using them on certs isnt unusual.

My paternal gran was Emma Ann. Her 2nd hubby used to call her Annie and when he registered two of their children s births he put her name as Annie cos thats what he called her ..

Info on certs is only as the informant knows

i have the the deaths as posts from above which gave me the estimated dates of birth jessie has no middle name so deaeth dates and certainly a fair match for william

Shirley that death in 1949 was William James according to the probate leaving a widow Emily Jane, so probably the wrong death.

Stephanie, I think you need to get the marriage cert to confirm their ages and father's names. It is very easy to go down the wrong line.

The family seem to move around a bit, but this is the most likely after the birth found by Dea. The 1949 death is definitely wrong for William.
