A cousin of mine is called Nancy but was registered as Hannah.

There is a marriage of an Abraham Carter in 4th q of 1866 in Dudley (the registration district for Sedgley).

One of the brides is Hannah Connah (the other is Jane Bagley)
vol and pg are 6c/144.

Not sure what the death certificate will say - probably one of the Baker family registered the death.

I've looked for a marriage, but have not found anything.

Off to bed now. Will look in again tomorrow.

I have received the death cert for Abraham and his wife Nancy was present at death but I cannot find her on the census after 1881 and cannot find a death for her, I still have not found their marriage.He was single on the1851 Census and Nancy appeared on the 1871 census I have not found them on 1861 I have found a marriage in Dudley Staffs for a Abraham Carter in 1866 but his wife is Jane Bagley I am now wondering if this is their marriage and she was known as Nancy?? I do have one on my tree who we always knew as Cissie but her actual name was Emma I have looked in deaths for Nancy and Jane but no luck
Abraham died in 1882 in Sedgley Staffs any help appreciated

I did find him on FMP his on as Abm Carter living with the Bker family

they have the address as Parkhouse Lane, Sedgley, Wolverhampton Staffordshire

It should be Darkhouse lane which is Coseley, Sedgley

there is an Abraham Carter living in Bilston St, Cinderhill Sedgely in the 1851 poll book.

I think i have found Abraham on the 1851 census his name is shortened to Abm he is living with the Baker's another branch of my tree so the Marriage Mike found for 1850 is not the one I'm after

Also I have checked on the www.resourcesforlife.com/library/names/feminine and it says Nancy is Originally a form of Ann any ideas ?? maybe I should be looking for Ann but then even with cert how will I sure it's the correct one

His parents John and Ann died in 1839 and 1840 so I cannot find him through his parents I think I have just found his death 1882 in Staffordshire age fits (61) I also found one for a Nancy in 1907 but age way out I'm not sure if they had any children

Yes he was a publican,
I will try the marriage Manwaring Nancy Birmingham 16 549 that is the only glimmer i have yet maybe they where living in a pub in the area at the time that would be why they married there??
