Which census have you found him on ?

You wont find a birth cert if he was born pre1837 when registration started.

Many births after 1837 to 1875 werent reg either . In 1875 it became legal to reg a birth with a fine for non or late registration.

Have you tried Family Search site for a possible baptism .

Can anyone help me find the father of William Johnson William Johnson was born in Ludworth Derbyshire 1835-1838. Cannot find birth certificate for William either. He married Martha Webster 23/02/1862 in Chesterfield Derbyshire John Johnson is shown on marriage certificate as father but cannot find any information about him. PLEASE HELP IF POSSIBLE
