Am I not looking in the correct places? I know I am new to this, but I feel that I should have found some of it. Member Since: August 2012 Posts: 49 Send Message	Hello all, gosh that was quick. I am quite certain that this is the correct Robert. He shows in the 1841 census (as Robt) d.o.b. 1816. In the 1851 Census d.o.b. 1816 with wife Jane and children Francis, Mary, Richard, John and Harriott. In the 1861 Census he shows married to Catherine, with children, William Potts, James Smith Davison, George Potts, James Potts, William Davison. I believe that his son James Smith Davison married and had a son Edward Guthrie Davison in 1875 who married Amy Ethel Maud Henderson in 1901. If this line can be confirmed, then I have found my Grand father, Great grandfather and Robert will be my great, great Grandfather. I wonder if the use of Smith as a middle name has any relevance to the Jane Gott Smith mentioned above. It's looking very hopeful.
