I have 1851 Census showing Thomas Evans 29 (b. 1824 Llansadwrn, Carmarthenshire) wife Anne (b.1823 Llangadock, Carmarthenshire) and children John 6, Anne 5 and David 2 - all born Llangadock plus 2 lodgers. By 1871 they only have two young children showing - Rees 9 and Elizabeth 6 - both born Llangadock.

However I cannot locate the family on 1861 census when I would have expected to see them with children John 16, Anne 15 and David 12. I appreciate that maybe the two eldest could have possibly sent elsewhere to work but there is no sign of David aged 12 or his parents.

The 1841 is probably impossible as by then the father Thomas would only have been about 17 and as I have no idea whatsoever of his parents names have virtually given up on this.

My biggest problem when scrolling the inumerable Thomas Evans there are in Wales on the various census returns is the fact that my knowledge of the different areas of Wales is unfortunately Nil. Because of this I cannot recognisde whether one 'village' is virtually next to another etc. etc.

If anyone, maybe with knowledge of Wales, is prepared to have a quick look and see if they can see this family on 1861 census I would be very grateful., Thank you.
