Mandy, back in June I gave you a possible marriage for Elizabeth.

Thanks for all the replies. (Sorry if I should have continued with other thread). I didn't get the marriage cert in the end because I found out all the info I needed on Stephen Richard Jewell and his family, but haven't found anything further on Elizabeth Ann, particularly on who she married, and whether they had any children, and what happened to them, hence my query today.

Mandy, reading your other post, did you ever buy that marriage cert ?

The 1888 Elizabeth Jewell appears to have married JONES. She appears on the 1891 census as married daughter to Edwin (coincidence) Jewell.
(Also found a Selina Foster aged 30 with a 14 year old son! A 66 year old Robert Foster dies 1890 Plymouth)

This is the marriage possibility that you site in 1887 (you said 1888)
Civil Registration event: Marriage

Name: JEWELL, Elizabeth
Registration district: Stoke Damerel
County: Devon
Year of registration: 1887
Quarter of registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Spouse's last name: Not available before 1912
Volume no: 5B
Page no: 663
MarriageFinder: Elizabeth Jewell married one of the following people:

BURNS, James
CLARKE, William
PALMER, Minnie Blanche

But there is also this one in 1888 in Plymouth area. Neither give Elizabeth a second name

You need to look at the following census and see if you can find the "pairs" and then look at the details to see if you can match a birth place.
It might be neither of these of course

Mandy Report 16 Dec 2012 16:59

Hello
I am trying to find out what happened to my husband's great grandfather's sister Elizabeth Ann Jewell. I have records of her birth in 1867 and great grandfather Stephen Richard Jewell's birth 1871, both Stoke Damerel (Devonport). Unfortunately their parents died young, Elizabeth in 1877 and Thomas in 1880, and the 1881 Census lists Stephen and Elizabeth in Stoke Damerel Workhouse. I have all the information I need about Stephen, but can't find anything about Elizabeth. I have found a record of a possible marriage in 1888 to either James Burns or William Clarke in Stoke Damerel, but haven't been able to find out which, or if the Elizabeth Ann Jewell is our ancestor. Any help on what to do next will be gratefully received. Thanks.
