I am searching on behalf of my Uncle and Ellen was his mum.

He does not think she had any siblings and if she did she never mentioned them.

Her fathers occupation is a farm labourer

How does she connect to your family?

What was her father's stated occupation?

Who witnessed her marriage?

Rebekah

I don't have much more information on her.

We know she was evacuated to Reading during the war and that's all we know about her

not much I know but it will keep me busy for a while

What other information do you have on Elizabeth?

Getting one of the birth certs for one of her children would be a good start. If she was the informant for the births, you can be pretty sure she's got her own info right!

As mentioned, death certs are the worst of all certs for information, as the details contained within are only as good as the knowledge of the informant.

Is it possible she had preferred her middle name of Ellen and her accent made it sound like Helen?

There are numerous possibilities.... but you will most def need to stick to certs where your relative was the provider of the information.

Hi Rebekah - ages on certs aren't accurate! On her death the information is only as good as the informant's knowledge.

Was she a spinster on the marriage certificate?

Rebekah

Rebekah Report 2 Jan 2013 14:17

I am trying to find out about a mysterious family member.
Her marriage certificate has her as Elizabeth Ellen perry age 21 years father William Thomas Perry. She married Stanley Kyme 09 07 1942

Her death certificate has her as Helen Elizabeth Kyme date of birth 25 03 1919.

I cant seem to find a birth and if she was 21 in 1942 she would have been born 1921.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
