The above died on 27 March1928 in Salford Lancashire aged 45yrs. Is there any way I can find out his exact date of birth so that I can apply for a birth certificate. His father was WIlliam WIlliams a carpenter who died prior to 1916. We don't know the mother's name. There are so many Williams births. Tree searches have not found anyone who can help. I fear it will be an expensive business. Thanks to anyone who can advise. regards Jenny |

The only document which will have the exact DOB is the cert. |

If he's the railway worker on 1911 census, he says he was born in Denbigh |

Thanks Reggie. Happy New Year! His marriage cert in 1916 to Maude Tetlow described his father as William Williams deceased a carpenter. |

Even using freebmd, which is less specific then the NW site, there aren't many births for the name in the appropriate time-scale in Denbighshire |

Witnesses at Salford Registry office were David Massey and Elizabeth Massey. |

Does his occupation when he married tally with that of the man on the 1911 census? |

He was a railway waggon sheeter at the time of his marriage and at his death he was a labourer in the tramway sheds. Whereas the suspected 1911 census shows him as more of a clerical worker. |
