Find Ancestors

Would someone please be kind enough to help me with the following as I do not know what records are available.

Nellie Roe born 1887 England sailed from London to Freemantle Australia March 1924 with her two sons P A Roe born 1910 and W A Roe born 1919.

Nellie was married to a Peter Gordon Roe born 1879 England but I cannot find his departure.

Is there any information available on them after their arrival at Freemantle.

On the Australian Death Index is one Nellie Roe death.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Alan, there's actually a few deaths on the index for Nellie Roe!

Could you give us her maiden and parent's names?

What do the children's initials stand for?

Whereabouts in England where they from?

(All background info gives us a better chance of finding them)

EDIT: as no reply have done some digging, Nellie was born Nellie Barker in Coulsdon, Surrey - daughter of William and Sarah H.

The child PA is Peter Archibald born 1910. The outgoing list has a Wm A but the only birth I can find is for a George b 1913

No year on this death but I guess the /74 on the reg number denotes 1974:

Hello MarieCeleste.

Nellie's maiden name was Barker. Born 12 Aug 1887 Coulston Surrey Her parents were William and Sarah Harriet Barker.

Thank you very much MarieCeleste for all that information you found, you have filled in a lot of blanks on my tree, it was always a mystery what happened to that family.

Its very sad about Peters wife.

There is a marriage in Perth in 1942 of Peter A ROE to Ethel F J LAVERY (reg 1794). She was born in Yilgarn WA in 1916.

Nellie Barker and Peter Gordon Roe were from Lambeth or Croydon, England. I think she was a housekeeper. He was a Private in the Royal Marines and served in WW1 (we have his medal). Eldest son Peter was born in Croydon (?). They then moved to Peterhead, Scotland where my Grandfather, William Arthur Roe, was born 1st May 1918. They moved to Cottesloe, Western Australia, in 1923, where youngest son, Frank, was born. Peter Gordon Roe became a painter. At the outbreak of WW2, Peter joined the Army, William the Navy, and Frank the Air Force. Peter stayed in Western Australia. Frank settled in Port Augusta, or the Adelaide region, where I think Nellie ended up eventually. William settled in Sydney. All sons died aged 60-61. William passed 1979 aged 61. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for the Korean War. Also, Peter Gordon and William were Freemasons (we have their documents and memorabilia) but I don't know if the other two sons were involved. <3
