Member Since: July 2008 Posts: 18,042 Send Message	Mel, to be honest, I'm not too sure about that 1871 either. I'm dubious about the 1881, too with a birth year of 1869 for Alfred. All the other records seem to be consistent (ish) with his age. Wonder if that was another child? Will see if I can find Charles in 1871.

Well what can I say WOW your all marvellous, you have achieved in a matter of minutes what iv'e been scratching around with for years and never got anywhere with i cant thank you enough. I'll try and answer your questions if i can; no i don't have Charles and Eliza's marriage cert and the 1877 date was only a guess. I do have birth certs for Charles (jnr) and Gilbert, they both list Charles Griffiths as their father and Eliza Griffiths formerly Fear as their mother, it also says that the informant was Eliza and she only made her mark so she probably couldn't read or write. The birth dates were for Charles:- 11-1-1879, and Gilbert:- 3-2-1880, both born at Corn st Shepton Mallet. I am no longer a member of Ancestry I let it laps a couple of years ago
