Hi James, glad you are pleased wth the results so far. I'd be really interested in the outcome when you get Julia's birth certificate - hopefully if we get her mothers name we may be able to find her first marriage, and hopefully Edward on a census before he went to India. |

Wow! I'm blown away! Thank you all so much for all the information. It has all been so helpful, I can't articulate how grateful I am. I will definitely look into all of this and particularly into getting Julia's birth certificate. In particular, knowing that Mary's name before she married Joseph Bush was Joyce was helpful because I was a bit confused when I saw Julia living with the Bushes in the 1891 census. |

Sarah Daniels was his mother not Mary's, so we're no nearer without knowing where/when they were married or having Julia's birth cert. I would guess Edward was English, because of the regiment, but this is not certain. |

Yes, I think the birth cert is needed - with her mother born Ireland, we don't know where the father born, they could have married anywhere! |

Think you may be onto something there Chris - she's with her mother/stepfather in 1891: |
