James Boothroyd. born c 1838 Huddersfield area (Lepton) Father. John who was a weaver. Got one certificate that showed Father as a Blacksmith so that is out.
James became a coal miner and married Sarah Brook/e 1864.
Any help available to find the birth of James giving both parents would be great.

many thanks. I have looked before on 1841 and somehow missed this. It does look very promising. E Andrew.

Ethel again. I have now found the 1841 and 1851 listing for the family as above, but there is a snag. 1851. Ann/Nancy is shown as a Widow, yet when James married 1868 his Father was shown as a weaver, and does not mention deceased. ????
Is it likely that they would miss this off.???? Ethel.

Hi Ethel,I think it is the same family.
Nancy and Ann were one in the same.
If you check all census addresses it is Lascelles hall Kirkheaton.
In 1901 James puts place of birth Lasellhall.

John Boothroyd married Ann pollard 31/1/1919 in Kirkheaton
She is down as Ann on a few of the childrens Baptisms
ie Daniel (David)1824
Squire 1828
Betty 1830.

Thank you so much Mary. I think it must just be an omission about John's death.

The Bride/groom were asked for names & occupations of their fathers. They weren´t asked whether they were dead or alive, so the info wasn´t included unless it was mentioned.
