Hi, I got this from Freebmd website, searching my nan's birth record in Durham and her siblings listed the mother's maiden name as Wroe.

Hello Sarah - where did you get Florence May's maiden name from?

EDIT: Should really continue on this thread:

... especially as there's conflicting info re: her maiden name.

Sorry meant to add that it appears Florence re-married a James Shanks, 1930 in Durham.

Hi wondering if anyone can offer any advice or point me in the right direction as to where I can search next.

I'm trying to trace Florence May Ward (nee Wroe) born abt 1888 in Middlesborough, Yorkshire and Charles Ward born abt 1876 in Plumstead, Kent.
Another genes member has kindly just found them for me on the 1911 census living in Durham with their 3 young children, Charles Ernest, Florence May and Gwendoline. It states Charles' occupation as a Bricklayer and that they have been married for 6 years.
I cant seem to find either of them anywhere previous to the census record. Cant find any marriage record, census record, baptisms etc.
Any ideas or websites would be a great help.
Many thanks, Sarah
