I am desparately looking to find some information about the baptism of two children, both I believe born in Wolverhampton, one in 1837 and one in 1839. I have been unable to trace birth certificates and wonder if there could be records of a baptism. The names of the children are Frances (Fanny) Hevingham 1837 and Thomas Hevingham 1839 - the surname spelling could have been changed, as it seems to have on many ocassions - but if anyone could help, or even point me in the right direction, i would be grateful. On the marriage certificate of Thomas, in 1864 no father;s name appears - so wonder if he could be illigitimate, or maybe father deceased? It seems Frances never married. So if anyone could help, I would be grateful. |

Hi Mike, thats what I wondered, so it might be possible that he is illigitimate, and registered in mothers name, so I could be looking for a female Hevingham? I have a couple who could be possible, born around the right time etc, so I will carry on looking. Thank you for your input |

1841 - although not listed with Thomas, Fanny is with him. They seem to living in the same building as the Pickens in the 1851 but not in the same household |

I have the information about the two children being with the Picken family , as "nurse children" and also about Frances being a ladies companion, and as far as I know she died unmarried. I really need to find out who were, and what happened to, their parents, and I just wondered if baptism records might be the way forward |

I would just like to say thank you so much to Chris and Mel, your information has certainly given me something to get my teeth into. I am very excited and the info regarding the marriage of Edward and Mary is something I had not come across before - thank you so very much - I will do some more digging on that one , and as far as Mel's info on Sarah is concerned, thank you, I have wondered about her, and will try and get a little further with that - Mike asked about the info he had found, and yes that is from my tree - I am hoping to spend some time on adding all the other info I have to that tree very soon, thank you all so very much for your help - it means a lot me - thank you |

Edward and Mary Havingham in 1841 - if they are Thomas & Frances's parents, I wonder why the children aren't living with them? |
