Hi everyone,
thanks for all your help, you are all tremendous. I don't know whether this clears things up but here goes...
Frances (Fanny) Hart born in 1842 had a daughter - Rosetta in 1864. Birth certificate shows no fahter's name. Frances marries Thoams Roberts in 1867 and Rosetta becomes Rosetta Roberts. Thomas and Frances have a daughter - Kate - in 1867 and a son Samuel in 1873. These two children were both born in London. Frances died in 1876 of smallpox in London. Rosetta appears as a servant in 1881 census in London. By that time Kate is in Leeds with her Uncle Samuel. Rosetta eventually comes to Leeds and marries George Morley and Samuel appears later in Leeds with Thomas and a new wife - Mary Ann Mayhew nee Standeven. I knew Rosetta was baptised as an adult in Haggerston and it looks from your info that Kate was also baptised in Haggerston. I cannot find Thomas in 1861 prior to his first marriage and in 1881 just after his first wife died.
Gill :-) :-) :-)

Mary Report 22 Jan 2013 09:24

Thomas had a daughter Kate born 31/7/1867 married Albert Coulson in 1888 in Leeds.
Rosetta Hart born Caxton Cambridgshire 24/8/1864 married George Henry Morley in Leeds named her dad on Banns as Thomas Roberts.

Can't find any of them 1871 so looks like name maybe mistranscribed.

Gillian Report 21 Jan 2013 09:48

Thanks for the help. I am looking for my great, great grandfather - Thomas Roberts who moved to London from Gamlingay and he disappears from the census returns in 1871. His wife died in 1876 in the smallpox hospial in Islington, she too is missing from the 1871census and I wondered if they were in a workhouse.
