BMD records are probably on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk which is a pay to view site. Have you looked there?

On a free search, there's one death match for 1915 - 1940, for Williamina but no exact marriage match with the spelling you've given

Reggie Report 30 Jan 2013 10:42

To find any possible marriage, you will have to use Scotland's people website.

It is pay-to-view, so lookups are not an option

You have given no date info with regard to the second part of your request...............

Have you asked about this family before?

The location seems very familiar..........

Yeah Ann, it's a pity the FS censuses don't put the whole h/h together on their UK transcriptions like they do on their US ones. Only England & Wales 1871/81 are really of much use. Anyways here's the Scottish 1891 h/h:

WILLIAM MCROBBIE 1857 34 HEAD
JANE S MCROBBIE 1852 39 WIFE
JAMES SHAND 1878 13 STEP SON

Hi,
Thank you folk. William Wilson Shand i dont know when he married . All i know is he married Jane Milton and that he died 7-12-1935 at Fyvie aberdeen. Informant at death was george Law Fowlie - brother in law. Also i noticed on a Mcrobbie census their was another daughter i didnt know existed Margaret Mcrobbie or Maggie?
This family on Dads mums side is so confusing so many children out of wedlock to Jane and margaret Shand. There is more but been able to find a bit more on them.

If you don't know when/where he married, where did you get the 'info' about his wife's name?

alviegal

alviegal Report 1 Feb 2013 10:41

A couple by those names were married in Aberdeenshire in 1915 according to SP.

Susanne probably discovered that William Wilson Shand had married from his DC. Scottish ones have more info than the English and Welsh versions.

http://www.scotlandspeoplehub.gov.uk/research/deaths-1856-present.html

The following information can be found on death certificates 1856 onwards.

— Name and surname of deceased

— Occupation

— Marital status

— If married the name of the spouse

— When and where died

— Sex

— Age

— Name, surname and occupation of father

— Name and maiden surname of mother

— If parents are deceased

— Cause of death

— Signature, address (if not where death occurred) and relation of informant

— Where and when the death was registered and the signature of registrar

There's a labelled example of a couple from 1881 here

Thank you for your for help and suggestions. I have done many of my family trees and helped so many with there families but ive found this side of my dads so awkward as i said before with so many children born out of wedlock, I have worked very hard on this side managed to find a lot, I was given the marriage of William Wilson Shand by a very nice lady in Aberdeen. Also ive tried to find the dad of my grandma who was known as Mary Mackie Shand so he must have been a Mackie. She was one of 4 children with different dads i have founf them.
