i am trying to find family from fordinbridge new forest ,they would have been there in late 5os 60s my sister remembers visiting them there but we dont remember their names i know its a long shot but my nan was lily hobbs she had brothers jack ,william,gilbert,wilfred,and ernest,sisters evelyn and emma my grandad was arthur and he had brothers albert,william,reg bertrum and sisters ada,emily,annie and nessie and were pretty sure that it was one of these which lived in fordingbridge and its possible they had a business there maybe the post office but again we know nothing with any certainty but any information would be greatly appreciated x |

IF that's the right family, there are births, but not for the names given by Lorraine, and certainly not for as many. |

The impression I get from the OP's request is that only one member of one of the families was in Fordingbridge.............but it's hard to be certain, and no guarantee that the surname was Hobbs, if it was one of the females. |

Wow thank you for all the info ,I have been doing some research and I have found it to be my grandmothers sister Evelyn Hobbs and her husband frank Lewis and son Michael who lived in fording bridge up to at least 1972 as I have a death record for frank at that time I wanted to find where they lived but feel I may have to do that when I get there ,as far as I know they were the only family which lived there as all my utter research has taken me to kilmersdon midsomer norton from e etc although there were an awful lot of one side of the vranch family who all seemed to be in Monmouth in 1911 census if anyone can shed any light on that I would be interested it may be something to do with mining thanks again for your help x |
