Thanks all for your replies. I know his date of birth and family records back to 1816 or so. I have navy records (£3.36!) showing him at HMSVictory - Naval Barracks Portsmouth and HMS Excellent - Gunnery Training School Whale Island. (1914) He was still serving in the navy or fleet air arm in 1924 - left at some point and rejoined prior to WW2 and was at HMS Champion Sheerness. |
