"The bride is recorded as Janet Elizaberth Nicol ... i have been unable to find ... where they lived"

Check Walter's attestation papers - it's at the edge of chinatown.

http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-E0EE9E/gbsearch/Births,Marriages,Deaths
Vital Event Death Registration
Name: Janet Mason
Event Date: 1932 7 22 (Yr/Mo/Day)
Age: 57
Gender: female
Event Place: Grand Forks
Reg. Number: 1932-09-467296
B.C. Archives Microfilm Number: B13144
GSU Microfilm Number: 1952655
[Grand Forks is abt 500km E of Vancouver.]

I checked http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/KeywordGenealogy
and FS https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FLGJ-ZTL
Neither has an image this time, but FS gives another father, so I guess it's not our lass. We know WLM died in Toronto - presumably he no longer has a wife as his nok is his dad, so maybe she died in Ont.

Hello again mgnv,

Thanks for the reply.
I did try to view Walter's attestation papers via your link without success, and as of today (16 Feb) it still keeps putting out the same ''technical difficulties'' message (unless i'm doing something wrong !).

I did look at the death of Janet Mason (in 1932 on Familysearch) myself but there is not enough proof to know for sure, just guessing really.

As for the 'name of father entry' it looks to me as though the person registering this Janet Mason death did not know the name of her father...Cregg Ireland could mean that his POB was in Cregg, County Clare, Ireland..?

Perhap's Walter's marriage was unsuccessful &,as you say, the NOK on his papers suggest that the marriage was probably childless.

Once again, many thanks for all of your great help !
Best Wishes

Roy + Patricia

Re "technical difficulties"

Earlier this week, LAC said:

Major interruption of LAC computing services February 16, 2013
On Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 6 a.m. to noon (EST), a major interruption of computing services will affect clients of Library and Archives Canada (LAC).
[That would be 11am-5pm UK time.]

EDIT Just checked (19:12 UK time) and I had no access problems
