Member Since: April 2004 Posts: 3 Send Message	Am trying to find information on my father-in-law who I have found as being adopted in the 1911 census living with a Swift family in Kent. Any advice as to how I might go forward with this as I understand adoptions are very difficult to trace prior to 1927. Would appreciate any advice . The census is listed as Furmoor but his marriage certificate states Fermoor. :-(

	I've found the Cecil Leonard Fermor born 1906 with his parents James John and Emily Elizabeth on the 1911, so probably not that one. Someone has that one in a tree on Ancestry married to a Brooker in 1930.

	Marriages Jun 1892 BARROW Harriet Hollingbourn 2a 1259 SWIFT Harry Hollingbourn 2a 1259 Looks like it was all brothers that Harry had and Harriet had 1 sister. Emily but looks like she married in 1895 and is with her husband in 1911. So if Cecil was related to them it was more distant than nephew.

	Have you eliminated this birth please? Births Sep 1906 Cornell Cecil Fermor Malling 2a 821 At present not seeing a death for him before 1911 or finding him on the 1911 census.
