Given Eliza's birthplace on the 1871 and the mmn on the births that Chris posted, could this be Eliza in 1851?

PEGLER, James Head Married M 38 1813 Labourer Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire
PEGLER, Ann Wife Married F 40 1811 Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire
PEGLER, Eliza Daughter F 6 1845 Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire

Piece: 1958 Folio: 113 Page: 7
Registration District: Dursley
Civil Parish: Wotton under Edge

Address: Church Street, Wotton Under Edge County: Gloucestershire

BUT - the elder child on the 1871 had mmn Eastmeath so was Eliza actually Eastmeath and the two boys were to another wife?

EDIT: it was, of course, the youngest child, who was Eastmeath.

sorry so long in answering,
that could be Eliza in 51 but as haven't found her marriage to charles I don't know her fathers name,
It was the younger child that was eastmeath so don't know who her mother was, I did think perhaps charles had kate with someone else and she died so eliza took her in but its just a thought who knows.

Could there be 2 Elizas - Pegler the mother of the two boys and Eastmeath the mother of Kate?

Was the Eliza on the 1871 actually the Eastmeath Eliza? Or was it the same Eliza known by two surnames? (Just at a guess I'd say the latter)

I guess the birth certificate of one of the children she had with Smith might clarify.

she didn't have any children with smith suppose she could have two surnames but why put pegler on two boys and not on kates could get kates birth cert to find out her mothers name prob best.
thanks

Jackie, I don't think you'll be able to find what isn't there!

It's highly probable that they never actually married - many people didn't.
