Don't think we can get any further with this without one of her children's birth certificates, or one of Mary or Robert's marriage certificates to see if the father is named - although both could name Robert if that was what they were led to believe

At least one of their birth certs would also give mothers maiden name, and confirm or disprove whether the mother was married to Robert, and at least if she was married then it would give a lead in finding her in 1841 under her maiden name.

Ann and Mary 'fit' with the 1861 census posted (as to birth places) other than Ann's age. Could she have 'knocked off' a few years to be nearer to the age of second 'husband'? :-(

Flip

Flip Report 6 May 2013 10:55

Trouble is Choccy, she is quite consistent with her age in later census - and would be too young for that marriage.

Added: although that 1851 census looks pretty good for them. I found Mary in 1871 back in Derbyshire, will take another look see if I can find it again.

Alice is Armeson not Jennison, and I think the image state 1 year not 1 month. Maybe someone else could take a look. She could be the daughter of Ann or Mary.

I wonder if Robert actually existed? Mother Ann was consistent with her age and place of birth through the census 1861 onwards as was daughter Ann.

Can't find a birth registration for Mary (on 1861 census born Alfreton, Derbyshire), but Ann and Robert's birth tie in with their stated birth places. Maybe one of the certificates could confirm their parentage:

Births Sep 1853 (>99%)
Harmeson Ann Belper 7b 363 X - this is a mis-transcription
Harmeson Ann Belper 7b 383

Births Jun 1855 (>99%)
Harmisson Robert Basford 7b 96

Now, that earlier christening I posted for Robert Armison in 1834, father Robert, mother Alice - they had 2 other children:

And William, ch 14/10/1827, Radford.

I wonder if this could be your Ann, not married when the children were born?? Could do with finding the family on a census to cross check.

Thank you all for your help
I have marriage certificate,Witnesses hard to read looks like Edward Walker... Thomas Cooper.

Ann was born 1852 Pie Bridge,Derbyshire
have been unable to find her father Robert Armeisson in any census.

Problem Armeisson as different spelling, not sure on birth date :(

Ann's mother did re marry Chris Jennison
found information through genesreunited & LDS
Cheers Doreen

Hi Fredk, I think marriage licence is the same as certificate - some people used to call them licences - so should have both fathers names and usually occupations.

I can't see them either in 1881, maybe they were keeping a low profile if he was still married! Yes I think we need feedback on how Doreen arrived at Robert's age.

I think she said Marriage licence not Marriage Certificate. Does a licence give parents

Flip

Flip Report 5 May 2013 08:31

Yes, I've just found that, so probably the wrong one.

A tree on ancestry has Ann's father as James - 1813 but there is nothing to back it up and as Doreen has the marriage certificate it can't be right.

There is another member on here who has a Robert Armeisson born 1830, Nottinghamshire, in his tree.
Worth trying to contact him?

Added:
There are many members with Ann in their trees.
But Ann and Robert appear to be the only Armeissons showing.
