Only retirement ads for me although I did have that fashion one recently.

If i have searched for something on Amazon, Argos or Trip advisor I get them sometimes.

Never look up porn, so I am ok there :-D

Can I suggest you download a free ad-blocker?
There's no need to see any ads whatsoever on any website.

Bev

I have not found one yet, that doesn't screw my settings?

Hi Gins

I can only speak for myself, I am using Firefox 21.0 and since the days of FF 3.1 I have used Adblock Plus (currently version 2.2.4) and have never had the slightest problem.
My son has Adblock Plus in a version for Chrome.
Nobody in my house uses IE so I don't know about that.
I am always horrified when I go round to my Mum's and see flashing and intrusive ads all over her screen. I don't know what I would do without my Adblock.

PLEASE would someone rr this thread???
I can't stay in the pig costume forever.

Kindly,
Moxxx

Also find that advert strange but also getting it on my BT homepage

Just wondering why there is an Italian advert for QVC showing on this site.

Mo - I think your new avatar is such FUN!!

jax - you remind me of someone ..................................

I have had that cookie ad on here, but I've had it when using Firefox, IE or Chrome (I toggle between browsers).

I tried Adblocker but it was also blocking legitimate pop ups so had to uninstall it.

The advert box at the top of my screen is now totally BLANK.
Never seen it so naked before
You've frightened it off !

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 2 Jun 2013 23:16

Usually when I get the blank box instead of adverts it usually means problems for me on this site

Love the new pic Jax

I also have the "2 people are spying on you" advert on my screen
Every couple of days, the screen switches between the Spying Ad and the Retirement Ad, but I choose to ignore them.

How did this thread get onto the Find Ancestors board?

Gee

Gee Report 3 Jun 2013 07:42

Because Dea posted it and that's where the advert it?

CupCakes

CupCakes Report 3 Jun 2013 11:04

Banner add tracking & rotating adverts - I agree they are very irritating but GR consider it one of their income streams.

I try to ignore them and try not to click on them but.......They are time set to rotate so at this moment I have the Waitrose gluten free brand advert

It is fact that adverts reflect the type of interests one looks up on the web - there is always a monitoring cookie somewhere in the background.

Having a chuckle to myself, not at you but have you seen http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/genealogy_chat/thread/1325735 - how do they say on the advert....shush ....mums the word.....let this interesting thread continue

;-) ;-)
