David - there are a few Alice Monks in Lancashire, how do you know those 1871 banns relate to yours? It could be a different Alice Monk.

GlitterBaby Report 12 Jul 2013 23:01

Can you please explain if you have found Alice on any census ?

Just because there is a baptism does not mean they survived to be on the next census

Might rule out the 1856 death

GlitterBaby i havent found alice on any census BUT bear in mind this monk family seem very evasive
lawrence not on 1841 census
lawrence and elizabeth and family missing from 1851 census
they do appear on 1861 census

the 1856 death i think refers to lawrences' sister ie the aunt of my alice

i think the age and location is about right and

the name YATES is on a family gravestone in preston old cemetery

perhaps im grabbing at straws

i tend to be a little stubborn at times
