on the 1851 census ellen age 27 is the daughter and Robert age 8 months and Elizabeth age 4yrs are the grandchildren.
jabezage 22 is the son.
one of these may be mum or dad to the children.

Chrissie, it may not necessarily have been a stepfather's name. One possibility is that he was illegitimate and so registered in his mother's maiden name of Baker. However, if the natural father admitted paternity then he could well be named on the marriage record.

If this is his birth reg, his middle name was Allen.....same surname as that given for his father
