I am trying to find any photo of my grand parents whom I never knew or saw----lucy Isabella dithon--it could be spelt differently---also Alfred vin-yard---both born around 1875---lived at rope walk Ipswich Suffolk----my fathers name was frank Herbert vinyard---sadly lucy died around 1922---my father was put into a home in Ipswich from birth I think---this haunts me--as I don't know why ??? he never spoke of it--he died in 1980

I would appreciate any info at all

thank you

I think her name was possibly Lucy Dighton/Dyton.

If this is the right family in 1911, there were more children before your father was born

Alfred Vinyard 36
Lucy Vinyard 32
Alfred Vinyard 15
James Vinyard 14
Grace Vinyard 11
Henery Vinyard 9
Florance Vinyard 6
Emma Vinyard 3
Arthur Vinyard 1
Eliza Vinyard 28

Charles 1912
Constance 1915
Frank 1917
Robert 1920

Thats a fair few children to support. If lucy died and he had to work, he probably didnt have choices.

Have you done anything yet about contacting the other members who are researching these people.........as per the advice given to you on your other thread in July

Have you tried researching them yourself?

Marina the link given by Chris, is to your thread posted on the General board, as it is looking for basically the same family it is '2 threads on the same subject' even though it may mention different members of the family... it is just easier for people to help if all the info is in one place, or helpers may duplicate searches.

Have you managed to contact anyone with your relatives in their tree? either here or via Mundia? that is your best chance of getting a photograph and/or more information.

Have you looked on here here in 'search all trees' and tried to contact people who have the same people as you in their GR trees?

That was what you were advised to do in July........................if you'd done so, you might have had some replies by now

And.........as advised above..........look at the following thread................

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1323109

To do so.............just click on the blue type
