John McCallum was a baker from Campbeltown, Argyll in the 1940's. The youngest of 5 children I believe. He was born in 1901, and appears on the Scotland 1901 census. I am not 100% this is the information for the person i am seeking though. There seems to be a bit of confusion in the birth dates. I got this information from the local library, he was definitely a baker in Campbeltown I know that for sure. |

Just going by the info that Elizabeth has given, these are the censuses that fit and he appears to be the youngest of 5 children. |

Thanks for the replies. Iooking at my notes and I have the exact same list for the McCallum family as in the second list above, we believe Calderwood was maybe his mother's maiden name. |

Thank you, No I do not know who would register the death, I am just starting back up with this again after many months, after coming up against a brick wall. |

........ the only way to find out who registered the death in 1993 is to get the death certificate! |

if you search at scotlandspeople for births with surname McCallum given name Calderwood born in 1903 there is one match. Actually I made the given name 'john calderwood' and there is the same one match. |

A total of 3 male McCallum female Calderwood marriages between 1855 and 2012 are shown at scotlandspeople ... you can do these searches too ... without paying to see details you can still narrow the searches sufficiently to know whether to pay for them. |
