I am looking for the marriage of Mary Burke and John Lyburn. I know that they were married in the Sept qtr 1855 in Congleton. I am particularly interested in the father's name of Mary in the record but of course any info on John would also be welcomed.

Margee, I haven't located them in any census records. Really I am going by instinct here as a Mary Le Burne married a John Perriam and if it's the same Mary then her surname is Tenucci [or one of several variations]

I hate digging the dark but as U know, sometimes that's the best place to dig lol. :-D

Suggest you buy the marriage certificate to get father's name just to make sure that you have the right family.

Why do you think that Maria Le Brune is Mary Lyburn?

Possible? Maria Timmuchi married Thomas Burke 1849, Isle of Wight.

According to a tree on ancestry, Mary's brother Charles (1844-1922) had this son. Note the middle name.

I still think you need that John Lyburn/Mary Burke certificate to see if indeed her maiden name was Tenucci or something like that.

Oh dear, Alan, there's loads of information on your previous thread and we have repeated a lot of it.

Many thanks to ALL for the replies. Yes Margee there is a lot of info. One "problem" is that I do have all of it as I have been researching the family since 1969. As to Stuart's comment which is a valid comment also possibly related to this one but a different husband which is possible, since people do marry more than once.

I am possibly clutching at straws but "accents" and lack of being able to spell/read there is a small possibility that it is possibly the same husband.

My main reasons for the query is as follows:

Maria L Tennes married Thomas Burke in 1849
Mary Le Brune married John Perriam in 1872. Her father's name is Tennuci.

Between marrying Burke and Perrriam I am assuming that she married someone named Le Brune. The nearest marriage I could locate is that of Mary Burke and John Lyburn.

Is it possible that Le Brune is just a mis-spelling/mispronunciation of Lyburn?

As Margee has said, you need the marriage cert - only way to confirm one way or another.

This is from Cheshire BMD site, and gives place of marriage. Usually the BMD sites give any previous names for women who have been married before:

I'm just amazed that you haven't bought that marriage certificate, Alan, especially since you say that you've been researching the family since 1969. Surely it would give you the answers you need?

Normally I would have bought the cert but the problem with the family is that surprises like this one keep popping up. I didn't know of this marriage of Mary an John Perriam until I discovered it by accident. methinks I will get it.
