I think the only chance of tracing Jean Rix would be to get her marriage certificate. We would then know who, if anyone she named as her father.

it got posted on the separate thread and Stuart reposted it here on page 2

'For those of you that help with my first request I have now got the marriage cert for Reginald Gordon McCann and Jean Rix 24 Sept 1926
> Jean Rix was 18 years old and Reginald McCann was 23 years old .
> Jeans father was Frederick James Rix . I am still looking for a birth for Jean still no luck the only thing I found is a Jane Rix born 1911 with father Fred mother sarah but this would make Jean 16 not 18 .'

and as I recall no one was able to replicate the 'Jane Rix born 1911 with father Fred mother sarah'.

There was just obviously some invention going on

there are only 5 births for the name Frederick James Rix

1874 Wisbeach
1886 Norwich
1891 Mitford
1898 S Shields

The last one can be ruled out and the second-last one is unlikely for a child born c1908

There is one marriage for the name (pre-1911), 1898 Wandsworth

1891 Mitford probably married as Frederick J in 1912 in Mitford

So the name Frederick James Rix could be any one of the usual suspects: a stepfather, a combination of stepfather's given names and mother's surname if born to mother before marriage, the name of her real father but she was not registered with his surname ...
