Hi Sue

I found the birth on Freebmd by just using surname and the relevant years in Newcastle - the other children mentioned born around her were registered there. Try it and you'll see there aren't many births to that surname.

If your grandmother was Mary, it looks like she may have had a twin sister who died - again just check out freebmd for Wears births 7 deaths in Newcastle.
