I keep coming back to this for some reason.

1911 Lancashire (Private in the Army)
William Benjamin Dewer age 18 born Islington.
I thought the writer of the census misheard for Cluer.
On further inspection it could be Devier.

William Benjamin Devier married 1920 in Islington to Eliza Maud Mowbray.

William Benjamin Devier born 26/9/1893 (same as your William Benjamin) died 1979 in Essex.

No where can I find birth/ baptism/ 1901 census for a William Benjamin Devier in or around Islington!!
