So it looks like we have two different marriages to a Charles Britten

Elizabeth Mary Allen in 1885
and
Elizabeth Lankester Tansley in 1886

I think as someone has already said we need to know how the Poster has got back to the marriage of Elizabeth Mary Allen.

Mike you gotta pay attention :-) ... I posted the Britten-Tansley marriage well above, yesterday afternoon!

and yes, Londonbelle, that is what I have been saying ... well no actually, the other Charles Britten married Louisa Walker, not Elizabeth Mary Allen ...

and malyon there is *absolutely no point* in continuing to post records about people when we have no idea whether they are of any interest to Deborah (I already ruled out that Elizabeth Allen of Bedford and I have deleted my previous info about her because *she is not relevant*, she did not marry a Charles Britten or even Joseph Davenport ...)




Deborah told us:

'ELIZABETH MARY ALLEN BORN 1865 at Bedfordshire . She got married to CHARLES BRITTEN born 1860 at Salford, Bedfordshire.'

This is simply false, it seems to have been based on some kind of assumption made from the marriage record without doing any verifying, even checking censuses.

In the marriage list with those two names, they did not even marry each other!

*that* Elizabeth Mary Allen married Joseph Walter Davenport

a *different* Elizabeth married a *different* Charles Britten ... Elizabeth Lankester Tansley

Charles Britten and/or Elizabeth Lankester Tansley who married in 1886
*or*
Elizabeth Mary Ann Allen from Bethnal Green who married Joseph Walter Davenport in 1885

JC.. I am paying attention.
I previously sent a PM to Deborah to ask her to return and tell us if she is looking for Elizabeth Mary Ann Allen or simply Charles Britten's wife.
