I've been unable to find anything about Fay E Allen except a marriage in that name in 1966 Chelmsford

No obvious death for Frederick. No birth on freebmd for Lily.

She is likely to have died in 1989, but still no birth (so far)

It's a return of Wives and children of Officers and soldiers in Barracks/Quarters

Amongst others a Florence Elizabeth Cookson is listed as Wife aged 27 b Fulham. London, Middx and there is also a Raymond Leonard Cookson aged 2 listed as son b Woolwich. Fay is 11 months old.

Perhaps a later marriage abroad for Fay?

Leonards Father shown as William Cookson 19 St George's Place, Kidderminster, Worcs and Wife 2 Hampshire Terrace, Clayhall, Gosport, Hants.

Discharged to pension 1920 as a Sergeant Cook. Seems to have gone between Home Service and South Africa

Something to think about there. Thank you! At least you've found Frederick E C Allen's marriage which is one step forward!

I’d worked out they were in the same household (assuming the search engine is correct) by leaving the lead name & yob boxes blank, selecting Sittingbourne and Milton UD as the district. Then in the Other Household members boxes putting in Fay Allen.

Rambling Rose had also come to the assumption that sequential numbers seemed to be in the same household for one of her families.

There don’t appear to be any Allen/Sheaff births 1932-1939, so may be the redacted ones are other relatives? Or may be they were fostering? Who knows?

Oh well – its all grist to the mill :-D
