Curiosly I can't see the family on the 1901 or 1911 census, can't see birth of Margaret in 1892, nor marriage of parents.

A tree on Ancestry says that Margaret May Watson was born 14 Sept. 1892, Derby, daughter of John William Watson & Margaret Swain. It says she gave birth to a daughter, Margaret (Peg) Maskus, 1916, Melbourne, Australia and married William Maskus, 1919, Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.

Edit: Oops, possibly that's your tree, Aaron. But do you have proof that she was born in Derby, England?

AustinQ Report 1 Aug 2016 09:04

Aaron, what documents do you have that detail her parents and place of birth?

The Cockermouth one is unlikely as it does not fit with the details you have- she is listed on the census 1901 & 1911 with parents Joseph and Ann.

No, forget that as Thomas Fergus Watson remained in New Zealand. I thought perhaps the family had moved on to Australia.

I'll leave it on for elimination purposes.
