I think 1st one can be riuled out due to location....more likely to be one of the latter 2

Lynn

Lynn Report 30 Oct 2016 18:16

absolute possibility - yes...consider it noted :-)

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 30 Oct 2016 18:15

If that's her, perhaps, that would reduce the possible marriages to three between 1841 and 1851 (as far as I can see).

I don't see any John Williams / Catherine [?] marriages in Dolgelly.

A possibility for Catherine's christening?
We know she was born in Dolgelly c 1825, and she had children named Evan and Grace.

Lynn - sorry, not directing that question to you specifically - a rhetorical question really. I would imagine that the elder John died and the next son born after that was named for him - still too many John Williams born/died to pinpoint!

Lynn

Lynn Report 30 Oct 2016 17:51

i don't know.....I only had info back to 1890....pretty unusual to call 2 sons by the same name???unless he died

If correct family through all census, which it looks to be, was there an older John b
c 1850 (on 1851/61 census) before John b 1868 who appears on the 1871 census.

Just tried looking for marriage for John Williams and Catherine around 1848-50. There are loads of possibles just in Bangor. I think you will need a birth cert of a child to find Catherines maiden name.

Hardly any of the helpers look for records on GR, Lynn.

We mostly use Ancestry (where I think Andrew found those), or FindMyPast or FamilySearch
