Trying to find out a bit more on a Walter Barmby born 1903 in the Yorkshire area. I believe his mother is Mary Barmby born 1872, and her father was George Barmby.

Just found the same birth as ErikaH. The mother's maiden name is not given on the GRO site which suggests her name is also Barnby (or Barmby if the name is mistranscribed).

The birth certificate would give you the mother's full name.
