Possibly John W lodge born 1937. If so he may have been in Newcastle and/ or Folkestone ER’s around 2010.

No point in looking until further info is provided

ArgyllGran Report 11 Jul 2022 20:12

If Terence's mother was Bessie (1908-2003) from Darlington, I can't see that she had a brother JW.

There was a John (1924-2000) , a Joseph (1917 - 1945), a William (1921-2004), and several other siblings - but no JW.

ArgyllGran Report 12 Jul 2022 12:30

A tree on Ancestry has a Joseph Walter Lodge (1896-1960) living at High Easter with wife and children, but his life and death , and also ancestors, are well documented.

I can't see any link to the Darlington Lodge family.

Yes, we do need more information, Terry.

ErikaH Report 12 Jul 2022 15:36

Bessie Lodge b. 1908 is in a couple of GR trees - neither is 'owned' by Terence

The poster was not born in 1938

Erika
I was working along the same line of thought.........

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 12 Jul 2022 17:29

As Terence's surname appears to be May, and his uncle's name is/was Lodge, I assumed his mother's ms was Lodge, therefore arriving at the 1938 birth.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 Jul 2022 17:35

The poster was born in 1946 unless he's put false info on his GR tree

Margery Beard 1924 High Easter, Essex, ... Yes Terence

Ernest May 1917 Mashbury, CHELMSFORD... Yes Terence

Births Sep 1917 (>99%)
May Ernest H Owers Chelmsford 4a 960

So how can someone named Lodge be his uncle? (Unless by marriage to an aunt.)

I'm clearly missing something apparent to others.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 Jul 2022 17:46

No, you're missing nothing.........

I found the poster's name on GR trees - cross-referenced with his membership number.

His birth is on freebmd

'Uncle' may simply be a courtesy title from his childhood......................

I was thinking that Lodge must be a direct relative too, but when I couldn't see a match, I looked for a Terence with the same membership number as OP.

HopefullyTerence will come back and reveal all.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 Jul 2022 17:49

This is 1939 for the 1937 birth mentioned above

Apton Fields Cottage, Barnston, Dunmow R.D., Essex, England
Francis H K Lodge 14 Oct 1915 Male Pig Maw On Farm Married 74 1
Sarah S Lodge 30 Nov 1906 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married 74 2
The record for this person is officially closed.

Of all the people named Lodge, whose records are 'open', actually living in High Easter in 1939, NONE has the initials J W

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 12 Jul 2022 18:13

If JW is the man on the Folkestone ER, he's still at the same address in 2022, per the ER on GR, though his wife (born 1936) may have died in 2014.
They married 1961 Lewisham.

A younger male Lodge was with them in 2002.

The JW in Newcastle was at the same address until at least 2014, with his wife.
He married 1961 Newcastle.
Can't see them after 2014, in ER or deaths.

I think the Newcastle man is the one born in 1938, of the Darlington family.

In which case the Folkestone one may possibly be the man Terence is interested in
- if the 1937 birth is the correct one.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 12 Jul 2022 18:27

Francis H K Lodge (1915-44) doesn't seem to have ever lived in High Easter, according to trees on Ancestry, although did live in other places in Essex.

Nor did his wife, who was born in Newcastle and returned there after Francis's death.
