We can't tell if she married overseas or not.
For all we know, she may not have married at all, but only taken a partner's name, as suggested previously.

All we can say for certain, from the records available to us online, is that she did not marry Mr Stangi in England, Scotland, or Wales.

We can't tell where Mr Stangi came from.
With so much travel and emigration around the world, he could have been born anywhere.

Do you think Margaret D Markham married oversea? Which Country Stangi come from?

According to a tree on ancestry she was the informant on her mums death cert in 1988 as Stangi

I have researched that surname of STANGI from Asia, Africa area. They could married abraod. :-(

There's no record of a marriage for Margaret in England/Scotland/Wales.

She may not have married, but only taken his name .
Or perhaps she married abroad.

I can't see any record of Margaret between 1965 and her death, so don't know if Mr Stangi was with her or not (not listed with her in 1965) , nor what his first name was.

If you buy a copy of her death cert, that should tell you his name - if the informant knew it.

Arthur Bertie was my late Grandfather. Winifred was his sister and my Grand Aunt.

Thank you for some information. It must be hard researched for Margaret D Markham and who did she married to Shangi? I don’t have to access Ancestry website.

Arthur Bertie was the BROTHER of the woman who gave birth to the child who was adopted by the Butlers

So if your grandfather was born Arthur David and no father named on his birth cert then without name it’s impossible to say who his father was

Her whereabouts in 1963 and 1965 are from the Electoral Rolls on Ancestry.

You have to register, but it's free to search for births (1837-1934 and 1984-2020) and deaths (1837-1957 and 1984-2021) in England and Wales.
You have to know the person's surname, more or less.

Very useful, because it gives you the mother's maiden surname for births, and also full middle names in both births and deaths .
