Hi Debbie Cartwright family Thanks for trying to find my Cartwrights. I have the family in 1841 Thomas 25 yo. Ann wife 15 yo Edward son 10 mo living in Canal St Tipton In 1861 they are still in Tipton Brick Kiln Lane, but the family is now Thomas 50 Labr, Ann 43, Edward is in Stafford Prison, Mary 16 John13 and Alice 3. However, whilst they should be in Tipton, they seem to have disappeared from the 1851 census and I asked you to look for Edward and Mary seperately, as I thought that they may be found somewhere else other than at home which might give a clue to where the rest of family was. Any more help would be greatly appreciated. John Thomas

Hi DEBS Yes, all's well here thanks. Could be either of the George Munday's you found. I'm trying to tie up loose ends. I have George and an Elizabeth MUNDAY B 1855 both marrying Cadles from Long Crendon. If either of the two you found had a sister Elizabeth I guess that could be it! Many thanks COLIN

Hello Debra thank you for your offer. I am trying to unravel a family mystery around my grandfathers family origins. Older living relatives tell me is family were from Gainsborough and surrounding villages like scotter, scotton, scotterthorpe as they were agricultural labourers so moved around alot. My definite seaches have my granfathers fatrher as Charles William Hudson b1889 in East Halton in Lincolnshire, he was married to Lucy Leaning b1890( marriage certificate I have lists Charles' father as William, and the certificate is countersigned by Clara Ellen Hudson( sister i think?), they were married on 17/5/1909 in Primitive Methodist Chapel in Scunthorpe. It is Williams parents and siblings that I have an issue with as they seem to descend from Boston area of Lincolnshire which is a long way from Gainsborough? have I mixed up his parents as on the census returns there are lots and lots of hudsons at that time in the gainsborough area. Many thanks if you can find anymore info, and if you need anymore from me let me know!!

Ann 43 Mary 16 John 13 Alice 3 Edward 20 was in Stafford Prison. But no sign of Thomas, Ann Edward or Mary in 1851 Wish you could solve this one for me. Could it be that there are missing pages? Regards John

Debbie Report 29 Jan 2007 21:47

JOHN have had a really good look for you but nothing, are you sure Ann was only 15yrs old in 1841?? tried variations of the surname but still nothing also looked on the IGI but nothing there thats obvious either regards debs

John

John Report 29 Jan 2007 23:21

Hi |Debbie Thanks for looking again. Ann was actually born in 1820, so they must have rounded her age down. They have obviously been missed in the census, either not recorded or some pages missing from the transcript. Thank you very much for trying, it will have to stay on the books as unsolved. regards John
